Joseph C. South, 75, of Juliustown passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 8, 2016 at Virtua Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 20, 1940 in Cookstown, where he and his family stayed until they moved to Juliustown in 1975. Joe worked for Herman Liedtka Inc. in Crosswicks for 48 years as a diesel mechanic. Joe is predeceased by his parents, J. Thomas and Anna South; his brothers Tom, Jimmy and Barney South; sisters Mary Ann Whitbeck and Florence “Bushie” Horner. He leaves behind his adored wife Jean South of Juliustown; 3 children Joseph South of Juliustown, Diane South Pica and fiancé Randy of Virginia, and Cindy Mendoza and husband Rich of Juliustown; brother Benny South of Jacobstown; 11 grandchildren Brandy Greiner, Dale South, Travis South, Zachary Greiner and wife Marissa, Nicholas Pica, Shelby South, Chloe Mendoza, Allyssa Pica, Camaron Mendoza, Rilee Mendoza and Richard Mendoza Jr.; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, March 12, 2016 from 9AM to 12PM at the Tilghman Funeral Home, located at 52 Main Street, New Egypt NJ 08533 (TilghmanFH.com). A funeral service will begin at 12PM with burial to follow at Jacobstown Schoolhouse Cemetery.
